"ABOVE IT ALL"

KONG AND BEYOND

So Hong Kong was fly….literally. A 15 hour flight to touch down and experience the city of Kowloon for the first time. The flight was business( we working on that first class living).

DSCI0462We spent the next two days shopping visiting stores like Energie/Tough Jeans/and Bauhaus. The people who work there are a tad too eager to make a sell but i guess it’s better then being ignored. Obviously there were the heavy hitters like Gucci and Miu Miu on display. They don’t take to kindly to people snapping pictures at the stores but i got them in time.

We spent the majority of our time in Hong Kong but ventured over to Shanghai for the Trims Expo. Trim makers from all over China come here to show off what’s new and their progression with future fabrications and accessories for garments. The space was huge taking up 10 aircraft like hangers. Being that this was a trip for my day job we were looking for new wools and some leather for jean patches.

There was a interesting sequence at the end of the expo as we headed for the car. There were about 10 chinese locals following us to our van. They all threw these “massage” cards into our vehicle. Thought it was pretty hilarious and unexpected.

The trip was about 2 weeks long and it was a lot of work the majority of the time there. Of course we had to get Sparce Garments integrated into Hong Kong though

DSCI0472It was all in all a great experience and can’t wait for the next trip….

here are a few more pics from the trip

  1. Are you also considering to visit Macau in that region?

we weren’t able to visit Macau because of our hectic schedule but it is definitely on the list when we go back. I heard it has a lot of culture and a good night life. Someone stated it will be bigger and better then vegas in a few more years.
